We started with the crabcake and a shrimp cocktail. Both the shrimp and the crabcake were excellent in texture and flavor. The sweet corn fondue under the crabcake was too sweet and used in abundance at the bottom of the dish, overwhelming the aioli. It would have been perfect with just the chipotle aioli.
For dinner we had the surf and turf of filet mignon with lobster tail and the 32 oz. Porterhouse. We chose the sautéed spinach and mashed potato for sides. The filet was cooked perfectly but the lobster tail was undercooked and slimy. The Porterhouse was served at the right temperature on the strip side but the tenderloin side was overcooked and completely dry, wasting the best part of the steak. The sautéed spinach was sautéed spinach and the mashed potatoes were more like a crock of potato soup. They were runny and held no form on the plate, flavorless and extremely disappointing. We shared a crème brulee for dessert which was as expected.
Atmosphere
Fast paced, trendy decor. Average dinner and glass ware.
Service
I made reservations for New Years Eve at 10:00pm. We arrived at 9:50pm and were told it would be a few minutes. We told the host we would wait at the bar. Thirty minutes later we asked and found out he completely forgot about us and gave our booth to someone else, so we were sat in the lounge at a half booth. Upon being sat we were told we would be taken care of by two servers, which would have been fine if they communicated with each other. Everything came out in time but there was no checking back on us to make sure things were cooked ok. Dessert was never offered until we asked about it.
Value
A totally overpriced meal. $140 for the two entrees, not including the side dishes of potatoes and spinach. The total bill with two apps, two entrees, two sides and one dessert was over $225. Similar dinner checks at other steakhouses and restaurants offer EXTREMELY better quality food and service. Drinks were overpriced as well. If you're looking for a night out with perfect food and are willing to pay for it, pay for it somewhere else.
Overall
I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. If your money means anything to you, dine elsewhere. The best thing we ordered was a crabcake which was soaked in a sweet corn. I left feeling ripped off.
