Food |
| I eat here with my family quite regularly. We can always count on solid portions, but of quite typical American fare. I enjoy their soup selections, especially their bisques. Also, I like that you can order an appetizer-sized pasta plate/bowl. Expect a moderate amount of choices - some creative, some typical. So, there's something for everyone. My one recurring complaint has been their small desert menu. |

Atmosphere |
| I love what they've done with the place! It was in desperate need of a renovation, so I am glad to see that they did have one. It's dimly lit, perhaps too much so for some people's taste. Otherwise, I find the seating comfortable. Some might feel cramped, but in this way it's not dissimilar from any Manhattan restaurant of similar quality. I did overhear two women at my neighboring table that they believed we (as in my party) were seated too close to them. I was fine. They weren't. It's a matter of choice. |

Service |
| I've always had attentive and impeccable service. Perhaps my regular status garners me (or my family) some additional respect or deference, but I believe their waiters are simply that attentive. I've read contrary reviews, but I have never had a problem that couldn't be fixed, if not sometimes with a little patience, a quality many people do not have these days. |

Value |
| It's a restaurant, so don't expect "value." If price is a concern, and you could cook it cheaper at home, then do. GM's menu offers a cross-section of prices, though no entree is below $17-20. Likewise, their appetizers fall between $10-15. Their "value" approaches a moderate Manhattan-priced meal, which, to me, seems about right for its location. |
