The food was not as good as reviews have indicated. The fish was pre-sliced which immediately diminishes the quality of the sashimi and sushi. I ordered sashimi and the chef attempted to make sushi instead.
Atmosphere
The sitting area is tight. The gold paper behind the sushi bar is in poor taste as it looks like gold paper squares and takes away from the atmosphere. The restaurant is slow paced and lax. It takes close to 50 minutes to be serve a simple maki roll. With the fish pre-cut one would expect the dishes to be served much quicker.
Service
The waiter was friendly. The wait for the food was very bad. The sushi chef's service is poor.
Value
Suffolk County is in need of a good sushi restaurant/bar. We have not found one yet in the county. This restaurant was highly rated and it failed all expectations.
Overall
Steer clear from this place, seems you are better off eating sushi in Nassau County if you are on Long Island.

Food
The sushi here is amazing! Always fresh and excellent!
Atmosphere
This place is always packed, always lines of people waiting. But it is surprisingly not too loud, you don't even notice unless you look at the entrance and see the hoards of people waiting. Get here early or late. If you come prime time you will wait. It is a clean, neat place.
Service
The service is good, but because it is always packed you will have to wait a bit.
Value
Amazing sushi at a good price.
Overall
Come for the sushi, come back for the sushi, I wouldn't even mind waiting hours for this sushi!

Food
Excellent sushi. The Food is amazing. Definitely go for their signature rolls, UFO with sushi and rice instead of the radish...best roll around.
Atmosphere
It's cramped. Period.
Service
Servers are nice, some a lot nicer than others.
Value
Great prices. All good rolls under $9.50...mostly near $6-$7.
Overall
Recommended for all.

Food
By far the best, freshest fish I've had anywhere around here. Everything is clean, crisp and flavorful. Another nice touch is the heavy rubber gloves the sushi chefs wear, reinforcing the idea that you're getting things in a very sanitary manner.
Atmosphere
Typical Asian style decor. The only thing that takes away from the atmosphere here is that the dining room is no more than 5 feet from the door where people stand, packed in, waiting to be seated.
Service
Servers are typically friendly and accommodating. Sometimes they can be hard to understand though.
Value
You get a lot for your money at Kotobuki. Portions are a very generous size.
Overall
Make sure your patience is at an all-time high if you come here on the weekend. Be fully prepared to wait at least an hour to be seated, because this place is well known and they do not take reservations.
