The food is excellent. My wife loves the baby clams and I always choose the special of the day.
Atmosphere
Matteo's is cozy. You can go in your best weekend attire and feel comfortable. Very family oriented.
Service
The service is always awesome. Miss you Romeo.
Value
I consider it priceless to see my family smile and rave about their meal.
Overall
No reservations, so get there before 5:00 to get seated immediately or wait near the bar which can sometimes feel not so spacious.

Food
My family and I had celebrated a birthday here and everything we had ordered from appetizer to entree was excellent. As soon as we sat down, they gave us bruscetta and a loaf of bread in a basket, which was a good start. We had the baked clams and mussels in white sauce (save the sauce to dip your bread, yum!) We shared the Chilean sea bass Luciano, which was a huge portion and delicious. We also had the lobster ravioli and rib eye gorgonzola which was cooked to perfection. I really had no complaints about the food.
Atmosphere
The style of the restaurant looked a bit old. I think it's time for them to do a little updating or renovation. Definitely new carpeting because as soon as you walk into the dining room, pass the bar, I smelled puke. It was disgusting. Thank God, we were seated away from the stench, otherwise, I might have lost my appetite. They were pretty good with water service, no complaints there.
Service
Service was average. I would say to avoid the wait and if you want better service to go early, that way there is no wait and the wait staff has more time to tend your needs.
Value
The portion and quality of food was well worth the cost, which was not bad at all.
Overall
They do not take reservations, so, be ready for a long wait unless you go really early.

Only was able to get an appetizer at the bar due to the long wait for a table after being told on numerous time we would be seated next.
Atmosphere
Very loud, difficult to hear yourself think!
Service
They were not honest about wait times for a table. If they tell you 10 minutes, plan on waiting a hour!
Value
There are better restaurants that will seat you and serve you with joy as opposed to making you wait forever as they think they are giving you a gift!

Excellent Food. Family style platters. Interesting sauces beyond marinara. Better than Carmine's in the city.

This restaurant misses a ten rating because it is so difficult to get into and the parking is dreadful. They have valet parking, but there is no parking lot. They do not take reservations for less than 16 people, so we can't be bothered trying to park only to find out there's an hour wait. I'd rather make a reservation and go somewhere else than be standing around wasting my time. I would eat there again, but not on the weekend.
