• "A real knockout is the "tuna sandwich," a triangular-cut sushi roll containing, along with spicy tuna, tobiko, scallion and tempura flakes, and an elusive hint of citrus. You'll be blown away by the volcano roll-chopped clams, cucumber, tobiko and a California roll topped with a mayonnaise-based spicy sauce studded with bits of octopus. Do try the seviche, an exhilarating combo of whitefish, lime and cilantro."- Joan Reminick, Newsday • Water view

Aside from undercooked chicken in the chicken and veggie noodle appetizer, the food is quite good. I had a couple of rolls where the fish was very fresh and just melts in your mouth. I also shared a small beef kabob appetizer that was packed with big and juicy flavor.
Atmosphere
Fun and bustling but a bit much for a tightly packed joint. At the same time, it's a lot of fun rubbing shoulders with all walks and types.
Service
I pick four (4) for service because 5 = average, and the service was below average. I got the impression that our server was too good for us; a little snobby and trying a little too hard. She was overselling and under serving. It's just sushi and it sells itself, especially when it' s good. Also, the flagrant gum chewing was a major turn off.
Value
Portion size was fine. I feel the quality of the food is more important than portion anyway. But I brought my score down when I factored in service.
Overall
Pretty good food but I cannot stand mediocre service. Mediocre service disqualifies my whole dining experience. Perhaps next time I will try the take out.

Food
The food is to die for, everything is made to perfection. The assortment of rolls is outstanding and everything to eat is delicious. One couldn't possibly go wrong with any dish they choose.
Atmosphere
Personally, as a highly regarded accountant, I enjoy dining out and have had my share of unacceptable atmospheres brimming with children who don't belong, and those who don't know how to dine. The atmosphere is perfect. It is a high class of people mixed with the mature young adults who attend. It is a popular place filled with excitement and an all around great aura.
Service
I find the service to be very good considering it is a very fast paced restaurant through the eyes of an employee. It is a very small restaurant but is well worth the wait for a table and the crammed tables. Bartender Josh caught my eye as a very comical, energetic all around fun person and makes the bar an ideal place for conversation and entertainment.
Value
Despite the high prices which one couldn't argue with because the majority of the items served are directly imported from Japan and give the restaurant a rare commodity. The rating I give doesn't do justice to the total experience. Especially if you are a regular or a local, you are treated with the utmost respect and dignity as shown everyone else.
Overall
Overall, I can not stress enough, the satisfaction I have with this restaurant. The only downfall I see in this restaurant is the size. The summertime brings at least double the customers and increases the table wait to hours. One improvement I encourage management to make is expand. Take that (expletive deleted) art gallery out and expand. Also make Josh and Wes head bartenders and quadruple their salaries and benefits.
